Dr Moumita Rakshit

I am a Senior Scientist at Kenvue (previously Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health), focussing my research on innovations in Skinhealth and Dermatology.

In the past, I was a Research Fellow at School of Materials Science and Engineering, NTU where I developed a keen interest in skin biology and worked on wound healing, nanoparticle-mediated modulation of the extracellular matrix, nanomedicine and nanotoxicology. I also had a short stint at a Hummingbird Bioscience, where I gained experience in cancer immunotherapy. I hold a PhD in “Autophagy and its role in cancer cell fate” from School of Biological Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, and a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biotechnology from St. Xavier’s College, University of Calcutta. Besides, I have presented my research in various international conferences like the ASCB EMBO conference in 2018 and won the Best Poster award at ICMAT 2019.

SWE@NTU always holds a very special place in my heart as I began by SWE journey as one of it’s exco members, and I am proud to see where it has reached today.  Apart from work, I enjoy travelling around the world, running, hiking, reading and baking.
